About Us

Where to begin? I suppose an introduction of sorts is at hand, so, here it goes. My name is Christopher Kaszak, proprietor of Luna Rossa. I actually came into the restaurant business by accident. Prior to undertaking this endeavor, which by the way has grown into an obsession, I spent 12 years as a police officer. So, I’d be careful when you express your complaint about the marinara! Anyway, I was at work dreaming of all the other things I wanted to do with my life. I have been accused of being a daydreamer of sorts. Nonetheless, the opportunity to acquire Luna Rossa presented itself. After weighing out my options, I figured I had nothing to lose, except my house. So, what you see before you is the culmination of all of my daydreams. Quite simply put, it’s a place that I’d go to and eat dinner or enjoy a relaxing cocktail with friends.

This brings me to the other part of the story. What is it that really separates myself from the “other guys”? Don’t get me wrong, there are some very good “other guys” out there, but I’d like to take a minute to explain. I’m not one of the big boys whose corporate office is out of state somewhere, who claims to be interested in the community. I’m also not a marketing company that pretends to be in the restaurant business. I am just a regular guy who took a chance on a dream. By the way, in case you were wondering, this is in fact my first restaurant.

So, here are my goals through all of this. I didn’t come up with these by contacting an ad agency, I just thought of what I would want to expect if I were dining at Luna Rossa. First, I don’t want you to leave hungry! I think that I learned this from my Mother. I can’t step into my childhood home without her offering me food. So, thank my Mom for that one. Second, I want you to have the best possible dining experience that I can offer. By this I mean a great tasting meal made with fresh ingredients and for a reasonable price. I don’t want you to go broke, but I also need to pay some bills. So, we’ll agree to find a middle ground on that one. Lastly, I want you to come again. This is the tricky one. But, I look at it like this. If there is something that concerns you about our service, tell me. If you are unhappy with your meal, tell me. If you don’t like the color of the walls, I’m afraid I can’t help you on that one. Bottom line is this, I want you to leave happy, with a full belly and looking forward to seeing me again. So, if there is anything that you feel that I can do better next time, tell me. I promise I won’t be offended or ask you “if you are so good, why don’t you have a restaurant?” I may think it, but I’ll never say it!

All joking aside, you are part of my living a dream and I’m glad that you are. A lot of places look at customers as customers. I say that they are wrong. I welcome you not only as my guests, but also as my friends. And in the end, this is what separates me from those “other guys”.

Yours in health and friendship

Christopher
